Letting Go … or Giving-in ;) ?
Ahh, letting go. Hmmm. Hmmm.
Letting go was much more fun when my parents let me go wherever I wanted. Letting go was indeed nice when they let me marry the guy I wanted to …
The story is a lot different today. The thought of dropping Savi (my 3 mo old) at daycare gave me a whole new perspective on the whole Letting-Go thing … My heart ached while I stood there, giving my instructions to the daycare provider. The what-ifs overflowed an already aching head …
But who cares what I felt, right? Savi was all smiles ..even some laughs and gurgling! If she could talk, I am sure she’d have told me that the sooner i learn the better ;). Truly, what was the fuss all about?
With a few encouraging words from Pree and some tears, I was able to finally let-go. I wish it was more dramatic, but no kickin and screaming here. (Bad mom! )
Just four hours later, Pree had picked her and was on his way home. Savi’s report card said she had pooped, eaten, slept, smiled and fussed. She had played peek-a-boo and smiled at Pree when she saw him. All was well. Not sure what I had expected, but a sense of calm relief filled me …
I am not sure if I had Let-Go or Given-In, but does it really matter? I am on my way to being an enlightened parent …and honestly, “Letting-Go” just sounds a whole lot better :)
